It is often claimed that Jeremy Corbyn is pro-Palestinian. But is this true?
If Corbyn was pro-Palestinian, wouldn’t he:
Object to the abuse of aid money destined for the Palestinian people by the Palestinian leadership? (Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas is a multimillionaire; Khaled Mashaal the head of Hamas is a billionaire.)
Speak out against Hamas who are actively transporting Palestinians to areas of conflict despite the fact that they are supposed to protect them?
Express his outrage over the repeated Palestinian leadership rejection of peaceful solutions to the conflict?
Meet with Israeli leaders to further the chance of peace (given that it is claimed he met with Hamas for that reason)?
Express his disgust at the pay-for-slay program that encourages the murder of Jews?
Speak out against the far higher death toll of Palestinians in Syria than at the hands of Israel?
Show outrage at the status of homosexual Palestinians?
Speak out against the treatment of religious minorities by the Palestinian Authority?
Show his concern over the treatment and discrimination of women by the Palestinian hierarchies?
Speak out against the torture of political opponents by the Palestinian leadership factions?
Speak out against the cynical well-practised abuse of Palestinian children by Hamas for terrorism or propaganda purposes – putting them in dangers way to kill or be killed?
Express his disgust at the Egyptian blockade of Gaza and Egyptian activities such as destroying tunnels into Gaza, destroying homes in Gaza, pumping gas into tunnels in Gaza, Egypt’s wall on the Gaza border?
Speak out against the deadly Egyptian treatment of Palestinian terror tunnels?
Speak out against the treatment of Palestinians in Arab countries?
And if he merely empathises with the Palestinians’ search for self-determination, why doesn’t he express the same fervour when it comes to a similar quest by the Kurds, Catalonians, Tibetans, Basques or the other more than 100 global disputes over territory or sovereignty?
